Training Local Pastors In Africa

Bold Grace Ministries

"If your presence does not go with us, do not lead us up from here."

Exodus 33:15

"The Lord your God goes before you on your way, to seek out a place for you to encamp, in fire by night and cloud by day, to show you the way in which you should go."

Deuteronomy 1:33

Our mission
The mission of Bold Grace Ministries is to train men who are pastors in sound Bible teaching and to teach them how to use hermeneutics to correctly interpret Scripture. We are primarily focused on Western Africa, although we will go any other place where the Lord opens the door.

It is God’s grace that has brought us to this point in our lives where we see clearly His destiny for us. There were many steps that in retrospect where just the hand of God guiding our path to the destiny that He has for us. Here are a few that have had tremendous spiritual impact and still do.

Ruthanne Wilson

None of this would be possible without the unwavering support and blessing of my wife, Ruthanne. Together, we have raised two lovely daughters and will soon be empty nesters. Her encouragement and belief in our mission have been the backbone of my dedication to Bold Grace Ministries. Ruthanne's commitment to our ministry allows me to focus on equipping pastor teachers worldwide, knowing that I have a steadfast partner by my side. She is also my editor-in-chief.

Alma & Bud Wilson

My parents unwavering commitment to family and daily Bible teaching has profoundly shaped my life. Through their example of hard work, sacrifice, and devotion to the Word of God, they instilled in me and my sisters a love for the Word of God at an early age. Their legacy is a testament to the power of God’s Word when it is firmly embedded on the soul and the many blessings it brings to live.

R.B. Thieme, Jr.

R.B.Thieme, Jr. was the Pastor of Berachah Church in Houston, Texas, from 1950 to 2003. I had the privilege to be under his teaching from an early age until the Lord removed him from the pulpit. He taught Biblical truths from the Scripture, and he always emphasized God’s grace in everything. For example: Salvation is through faith alone in Christ alone; Eternal Security is absolute—we can never get out of God’s hand; Believers are eternally positionally sanctified in Christ, and at the same time, experientially, fluctuate between the filling of the Holy Spirit and the power of the sin nature, with 1 John 1:9 is our recovery mechanism; Jesus Christ is the founder and perfector of the Christian life we have; Believers living the Christian life by renovating their thinking with the very thinking of Christ. Also, he incorporated into his teaching every category of systematic theology. And he used many unique illustrations that made the Bible doctrines taught clear and understandable. Also R.B. Thieme, Jr. was the reason that I joined the Army which was life-changing for me. He loved the military and always emphasized the importance of freedom through military victory. He was a knightly gentleman, and I can’t wait to see him in heaven.

R.B. Thieme III

R.B. Thieme III is now the pastor of Berachah Church and my current pastor. God’s grace at just the right time, brought R.B. Thieme III to the pulpit so that those of us in the congregation could continue to be fed at the same level we experienced with his father. I am very thankful for that. R.B. Thieme III also faithfully and tirelessly studies and teaches the Scripture using the same isagogic, categorical, and exegetical teaching method as his father. In fact, the amount of truth and Biblical principles he is able to extract from just one verse is amazing. He provides ample application from each passage in the Word of God that makes the Christian way of life, the plan of God, and the will of God very clear. It is an honor and privilege to be members of his extended congregation.

Tom & Cheryl Molinar

Tom & Cheryl Molinar at Operation Molinar Mission in Nelspruit, South Africa, are laser focused on one thing—training local pastors so that they might communicate accurately the Word of God to their congregations. I am eternally grateful for speaking opportunities they provided for me during my visits and for their encouragement, wisdom, friendship, and the many hours of likeminded fellowship we have shared. In fact, their prodding words concerning God’s destiny caused me to realize the direction the Lord was leading. For that, I am eternally grateful.

Cyprian Antwi Awuah

Cyprian founded Bold Grace Bible Institute in Ghana where he is focused on equipping pastors for the ministry (Cyprian’s biography). Right after I had decided to be a full-time missionary, Cyprian extended an offer to teach at Bold Grace Bible Institute. I am very grateful to him for that. That trip solidified in my mind that the mission field was God’s destiny for me.

Ghana Conferences

Terry Wilson • October 14 - 17 2025 / October 21 - 24
The first pastor’s conference in the farming community of Kpeve was a wonderful start! Though the group was small, the pastors and local believers who came were hungry for God’s Word. It was encouraging to see their engagement and honest questions, even when discussions got lively. The following week at Bold Grace Bible Institute, the 2nd conference continued with our faithful group of pastors and one dedicated woman named Sarah, who never misses a class and fills her notebook with notes. Seeing the enthusiasm, discipline, and contentment of the Ghanaian believers reminded me once again how God provides joy and purpose through His Word, no matter our circumstances.

Charlie Kirk and Christian Activism

Terry Wilson • 26 September 2025
He has been called many names like Nazi, fascist, racist, tyrant, etc. If you listen to what Charlie Kirk says, he was none of those things. He is not an activist. He is an apologist and evangelist. He is simply one who defends the faith and he was a genius at doing it. He is not an apologist just for freedom and truth (divine establishment truth); he is an apologist for Christianity; he defends Christianity. And the platform he uses is politics and current events and race relations and he presents them in the context of freedom and divine establishment.

Words of Encouragement for any Adversity

Terry Wilson • 20 August 2025
Bad things that are out of our control can happen at any time. Most trouble, problems, adversity, and suffering, hit us at the worst of times when we least expect it. We are surprised! We are shocked! They catch us totally off-guard. It is easy to for us to hit the panic button. We become discouraged especially if we see no way out. But none of those reactions reflect God’s plan for us.

Hearer of the Word versus Doer of the Word

Terry Wilson • 23 July 2025
In Liberia on a Sunday at a local church, I was asked to give a Mother’s Day message. I started with the question, what makes a great Christian mom? Then I gave several examples of activities that a loving and caring mother would do for her children. For example: Cooking tasty meals for her children. Washing their clothes. Helping them get ready for school. Walking with them to school (walking is the primary form of transportation in Liberia). Spending time playing with them. Helping them with their homework. Teaching and training them. Making sure they get a good education. Tucking them in bed at night. And setting the example for a good marriage.
