Eternal Security - Family

Home  BLOG  Post#4

When anyone makes a decision to believe in Christ, he or she is born again into the family of God. John 1:12, “But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name.” The believer’s unbreakable relationship with God can never be terminated, repealed, or destroyed. Never!

We cannot be unborn. Nothing can revoke our second birth status. The child of God cannot change his spiritual birth. We are born into this world with the genes of two persons, our biological parents. Even if we denounce our parents, we still have their genes. We cannot change our genetic structure. Once we are a child of God, we are a child of God forever. Galations 3:26-28, “For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus." Remember Jesus Christ words to Nicodemus in John 3:7 that “you must be born again.” We are all born again, a second birth, a spiritual birth into the family of God.

Also Jesus Christ purchased the freedom of every member of the human race out of the slave market of sin. According to John 8:34, "everyone who commits sin is a slave of sin” That is all of us. But Jesus Christ paid the debt so that all we have to do is walk through the open door, and then we are no longer slaves to sin and the accompanying spiritual death. 1 Peter 1:18-19, “Knowing that you were not redeemed with perishable things like silver or gold from our empty manner of life…but with the precious blood, as of a lamb unblemished and spotless, the blood of Christ (the saving work of Jesus Christ on the cross).”

When we believe in Jesus Christ, we are transformed from slave to free, from a slave to a family member. There is nothing we can do that will make us a slave again. We can’t reenter the slave market. Once a slave is free, he or she will never again enter the slave market. Their debt has been paid by the work of Jesus Christ on the cross. We go from slave to member of the family, God’s family. We can never go back to being a slave. That is eternal security.

Tomorrow we will look at the absolute perfect righteousness of God given to us at the moment of salvation.
